Brian Keller and Larry Eaton win MWS Green Bay Tournament

Brian Keller and Larry Eaton win MWS Green Bay Tournament July 31, 2011 Trolling Spinners on the Bay. Brian from Winneconne Wisconsin and Larry from Blanchardville, Wisconsin weighed a three fish limit of 36.64 pounds of walleyes and first-place honors in the Midwest Walleye Series third event.

Keller and Eaton collected the $3,600 first-place check for their efforts, plus they moved up to thirty third place overall for the year. They are only thirty eight points out of the top twenty five for the MWS Championship. Rick Henriksen of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Tom Zollar of Green Bay, Wisconsin, finished in second with three fish weighing 23.46 pounds, earning $2,000. Tim Euting from Pickett, Wisconsin and Cameron Lewis from West Bend, Wisconsin won $1.100 with a weight of 22.02 pounds. They also had big fish with a 9.96 pound walleye.  Fourth place went to Pete Petta and John Van Norman both from Tomahawk, Wisconsin won $850 weighing 22.00 pounds. Fifth place went to the John De Bauche from New Franken, Wisconsin and Brian Paul from Green Bay, Wisconsin for $700 with 21.70 pounds The top 15 teams shared the $12,000 cash purse, plus merchandise.

Eighty four teams registered 212 fish for a total of 1078.78 pounds.  Sixty one teams weighed a three fish limit.  Many teams stated the caught over twenty while others struggled to get fish. We thank all of our MWS anglers for fishing this tournament with us, and the St Paul Methodist group and the New London Police Explorers volunteers for their assistance to make it possible.

This was the third stop on the MWS 2011 season. The remaining schedule includes the Bay of Green Bay; Menominee, Michigan August 14th.  The top twenty five point’s leaders after the fourth tournament will fish in a no-entry-fee, MWS Championship fishing the Bay of Green Bay, Menominee, Michigan September 17th 2011
