Brothers Jason Miller and Jason Miller Win Midwest Walleye Series on Winnebago

May 20, 2012-Oshkosh, WI Jason Miller from Winneconne, WI and his brother Matt Miller from Oshkosh won the second stop of the 2012 season. Jason fished the tournament with an observer as Matt could not fish. Jason weighed in at 10:30 am which was four hours early with the winning weight of 19.98#. They competed among eighty nine teams from four states at the Midwest Walleye Series Lake Winnebago tournament out of Oshkosh, WI.
“I’m not sure it has sunk in yet unbelievable “Jason commented he wished his brother could have been at the tournament to share the excitement.
The win earned them the $4,500 first-place cash purse, plus they took home the Big Fish Award with a 7.38# walleye winning two plaques and $100 gift certificate from TRS The Reel Shot (home of the JJ Keller Fishing Team).
Taking second place with 19.04# was Wayne Gregor, from Rosendale, WI and Dale Boeck, from Oshkosh, WI. Taking 3rd place with 18.64# was Dave Van Oss from Appleton, WI and Eugene Van Oss from Elkhart Lake, WI. Taking 4th place with 18.16# was Stephan Paulsen from Peshtigo, WI and John Hynes from Green Bay, WI. Taking 5th place with 18.12# was Brian Keller from Winneconne, WI and Larry Eaton from Amery, WI.
A total of 432 walleyes weighing 1196.06 pounds crossed the scale in the event. Big fish was a 7.38# pound walleye caught by Jason Miller and Matt Miller.
Weigh-in was held at Menominee Park, Oshkosh, WI.
This was the second of four MWS tournaments in 2012. The remaining schedule is August 5th fishing the Bay of Green Bay out of Green Bay and August 26th fishing the Bay of Green Bay out of Menominee MI.
The MWS Championship will be fishing the Bay of Green Bay out of Green Bay September 22nd for the top twenty five teams.
