December 8, 2010-MINNETONKA, MN-Walleye anglers nationwide have a new ally in the fight
to protect and promote the sport of walleye fishing, thanks in part to the Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit and its sponsor partners.
The Cabela’s MWC, along with title sponsor Cabela’s and official sponsor North American Fishing Club (NAFC), have helped foster the creation of The Walleye Federation (TWF). A grassroots organization based on the successful model of The Bass Federation, TWF is founded on three core values: youth outreach, walleye conservation and great walleye fishing.
At heart, TWF is built around providing member opportunities and benefits. Individual anglers or walleye clubs can join for a registration fee of $50 per person. Benefits include full membership in TWF, along with the NAFC-including a year’s subscription to North American Fisherman magazine-and FLW Outdoors Walleye. TWF members also enjoy access to a members-only online discount store and sponsor discounts program.
Walleye clubs enjoy added benefits, such as priority spots in the prestigious Cabela’s National Team Championship, insurance coverage for clubs and events, support for youth and conservation projects, and more. Another exciting benefit at the club level is the “Living The Dream Program,” which offers the winner of the Cabela’s NTC fully paid entry fees to an entire Cabela’s MWC Division, along with $1,500 for travel expenses, custom jerseys and the use of a wrapped Ranger 600 series boat for the entire season.
“The Walleye Federation has our full support,” said Tom Rosdail, Cabela’s VP of Marketing, “as well as support from across the fishing industry. We’re excited to see the changes and benefits that will come to walleye anglers nationwide because of the formation of TWF, and we’re happy the Cabela’s NTC will continue to be the pinnacle event in showcasing what grassroots walleye anglers have to offer.”
TWF begins accepting 2011 membership applications online on Dec. 13, 2010. For full details, visit www.walleyefederation.com or call (580) 765.2319.
