February 24, 2011-MINNETONKA, MN-Walleye fans planning to fish three or more Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit team tournaments in 2011 have until noon on Monday, February 28th to cash in on earlybird perks through the MWC Premier program.
These “earlybird” entries enjoy convenient installment billing options, priority entry and a shot at $9,000 in special contingencies. New this season, teams are allowed to choose any three MWC tournaments-regardless of division-and still accumulate points toward qualifying for the $100,000 no-entry-fee Cabela’s MWC World Walleye Championship.
Teams may register by mail, fax, or online. For full details on the schedule, rules, payouts, registration and more visit masterswalleyecircuit.com/Registration.aspx. Or, call toll-free (877) 893-7947 or email: [email protected].
Single-tournament entries-which cost $650 per event-are accepted until midnight (CST) on Sunday the week of each event, although anglers are encouraged to register early to avoid being locked out of a full tournament. Also, a $100 late fee kicks in three weeks prior to the tournament. For the Spring Valley season opener-that’s March 7.
More than $1 million in payouts are up for grabs in 2011. First place at MWC qualifying tournaments pays $30,000 (based on full field), and sponsor contingencies add thousands more at each tournament. In addition, teams that fish at least three events enjoy the added financial incentives of competing for a berth in the Cabela’s MWC World Walleye Championship. The top 45 point-accumulating teams from the 2011 season will be invited to the no-entry-fee, $100,000 2012 World Walleye Championship to battle for ultimate bragging rights and a $25,000 first-place check. Teams that fish four qualifying tournaments are automatically in the running for the coveted title of MWC Team of the Year, which carries a $13,000 cash award.
Cabela’s, the World’s Foremost Outfitter for hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, is entering its tenth season as title sponsor of the MWC.
