Evinrude Announces Sponsorship of National Walleye Tour and Championship for 2013

Sturtevant, Wisc, Oct. 31, 2012 – Evinrude announced today that it has signed on as a primary sponsor for the Cabela’s National Walleye Tour in 2013.
As part of the sponsorship, Evinrude has committed to a robust contingency payout program for anglers who power their boats with an Evinrude E-TEC outboard engine. A winning Evinrude angler at any one of the four NWT events will receive an engine upgrade of up to 250 H.O. Second through 15th place will receive $1,000 and 16th through 31st will receive a $500 payout. Co-anglers who finish on top of the leaderboard will receive $1,500, while second through 10th receive $500 and 11th through 31st receive $250.
“Our sponsorship of the NWT made sense because of the continued success of Evinrude anglers competing professionally on the walleye tour,” said Krista Heidegerken, Senior Communications Specialist for Evinrude. “Evinrude E-TEC showcases reliability and durability and that’s what brings our anglers into the winner circle time after time. We are excited to be working with Cabela’s and Ranger to bring this new tour to professional fishing.”
Evinrude anglers have found great success in recent years, winning eight of the last nine season-ending professional walleye championship events. Relying on the power and performance of their Evinrude E-TEC engines, Dan Stier, Chris Gilman, Scott Steil, Tommy Skarlis, Dustin Kjelden, Richard Nascak, Robert Lampman, Nick Johnson and Tom Keenan have all won walleye championships as members of Team Evinrude.
