NPAA members Greg Karch #138 and Tom Nelson #567 hosted a Youth/Family Fishing event at the 1000 Islands in Kaukauna, Wisconsin on Monday, May 21st. The event was kicked-off with a seminar called ‘Fishing Basics’ that lasted forty-five minutes and covered; safety, details on open and closed face fishing combo’s, casting, fishing identification, knots, bait, parts of a fish,
Aquatic Invasive Species message and what Greg’s tackle box consisted of when he was a youth. The Cub Scouts then went fishing. It started out slow but did not take long and the scouts were catching bass and bluegills.
Prizes were awarded for questions answered during the seminar and for the biggest, smallest and most fish caught. These events would not be possible without the support of these sponsors: NPAA, Dave’s Musky Club, Berkley, Badger Sportsman Magazine, Lake-Link, Plano, Mercury, Off Shore Tackle Company, TTI Blakemore Fishing Group and The Reel Shot who donated the bait.
