Jon Janiak and Jim Demboski weighed in early in the afternoon and immediately set the bar high for the rest of the field weighing in a 25-07 pound basket in front of a large crowd on Oven Island. They reported only five bites, and landed them all for the leading weight. In second are Dan Price and Jim Price with 20-03. Third are Steve Bodinger and William Vine with 19-12, fourth are Scott Perz and Kyle Gourlie at 19-08, and Kurt Stobbe and Mathew Stobbe round out the top five with 18-06. Catch the rest of the weights at the Mercury Marine National Walleye Tournament website.
The winds were all over the map today, making a train wreck out of many of the Team’s plans. Tomorrow looks interesting, with the temps cooling significantly to a high of 71, winds out of the East and moderate to light, and cloudy skies with occasional possible showers in the mid morning and later in the tournament afternoon.
302 Teams will again hit Winnebago tomorrow morning at 6:30. Stand by tomorrow morning for continued coverage of the Merc Nationals!
