Pete Petta #307 and John Van Norman #802 attended a youth fishing class to spread the word about NPAA. The kids have been participating in a three week class during Summer School at the Tomahawk Elementary School.
The kids have learned fish species, habitat, how to tie knots, different kind of baits. Kids have been bringing in pictures and baits they have to share with one another and also went fishing during the class. Pete and John attending one of the classes to talk about what NPAA stands for and what we are doing. Promoting the sport of fishing.
Pete’s first question was, who likes fishing with a loud response of “I DO” from all the kids. We talked a little about ourselves and the tournaments that we fish, some of our sponsors, then turned it over to the kids for questions and there were a lot. From what is our favorite bait to use, what is our favorite fish and what was our biggest fish.
They told stories of fish they caught. We handed out Future Pro t-shirts from the NPAA and Kids fishing books.
We ended by telling the kids, please, whatever you have learned in this class, teach your brothers, sisters, parents, and friends so they too can enjoy the great sport of fishing. We would like to thank the NPAA and Greg Karch for the t-shirts and books. Let’s continue to grow the sport of fishing!
