Learn 2 Fish With Us Educates Cub Scouts On Fishing

Learn 2 Fish With Us, Angler Educator and NPAA member Greg Karch #138  presented his Fishing Basics seminar to Cub Scouts packs in Kaukauna, Wisconsin on May 19th. 

Greg started out the evening with his Fishing Basic seminar which reviews: safety, open and closed spinning combo’s, casting, fishing presentations, bait, knots, parts of a fish, fish identification, ‘Clean Drain Dry’ and conservation. 

During the seminar, Cub Scouts, spent time doing hands on activities such as tying knots, casting and identifying fish, which are all skills needed to receive the fishing belt loop or pin.  Once the seminar was completed, the Cub Scouts had planned on taking their newly learned skills and applying them to fishing, but due to the weather, they had to skip the fishing part of the evening.

Each Cub Scout went home with fishing related items such as shirts, hats, fishing combo’s and educational books, that were donated by Greg’s sponsors.  The Cub Scouts were so excited!!!  Together we are growing the great sport of fishing!!
