Mercury, Lund, Optima Offer PWT Incentives

Three leading manufacturers in the marine industry, Mercury Marine, Lund Boats and Optima Batteries announced a special incentive for pro walleye anglers. Pro anglers fishing the Regional series of In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail tournaments will have a chance to earn entry fees and an invitation to the PWT Super Pro series in 2007.The 2006 Regional series includes tournaments at Winneconne, Wisconsin, Devils Lake, North Dakota, Mobridge, South Dakota and Escanaba, Michigan. Pro anglers who fish all four events and run Lund boats, Mercury outboards and Optima batteries will be in contention for the special award. The top-ranked “Mercury/Lund/Optima” pro in the Regional series (must fish all four events) will receive an automatic invitation to the PWT Super Pro series, presented by MinnKota, in 2007, with entry fees of $8,000 paid. “This contingency program adds another value to anglers fishing the PWT Regional tournaments in 2006,” said PWT executive director Jim Kalkofen. “Optima, Mercury and Lund are valuable partners who continue to show their commitment to anglers.”The PWT Regional and Super Pro circuits are Pro-Am events, and amateurs/co-anglers are being accepted into all events at this time.Amateurs and co-anglers may fish one tournament or as many as they desire. The top-ranked amateur/co-angler who fishes all four events in either circuit will be named the Mercury Top Amateur and be invited to the Championship.
