NPAA members Dan Gies #569, Mark Brumbaugh # 70, Travis Hartman, and Randy Eyre presented a Future Angler fishing clinic on January 18th in Cleveland, Ohio at the Mid-American Boat Show.  The fishing clinic kicked off with a power point presentation by Travis on the fish of Lake Erie, invasive species and how we can stop the spread of aquatic plants.  Prizes were awarded to kids that answered questions about the different kinds of fish.

Following the presentation 85 rod and reel combos were given to the kids that were donated by the NPAA with support from the Future Angler Foundation and Pure Fishing (Shakespeare).  Goodie bags were also given out with fish literature, posters, booklets, and a rubber fish casting plugs to allow the kids to practice casting safely.

With rods in hand, the  kids and parents were shown how to handle the rod and reel combos and were taught how to tie on hooks or jigs and set the rods up to start catching fish.  The participants were asked to participate in a group photo at the end and the volunteers were thanked for the great job they did presenting the information and helping the families learn to fish.

Sponsors of the event were; NPAA, Future Angler Foundation, Pure Fishing (Shakespeare), Crown Battery, Buckeye Sports Center.
