Forestville, WI – The National Professional Anglers Association was pleased to add Smooth Moves to the nearly 50 Supporting Partners on board and backing this organization. “The NPAA has a goal of enhancing the professionalism of its members and supporting the tackle and marine industry,” said executive director Pat Neu.
Smooth Moves is a product originally designed by and for tournament walleye anglers. “The adjustable Smooth Moves seat bases act as shock-absorbers to reduce the harsh pounding that could negatively affect neck and spine,” said company owner Kevin Christianson. They’re located in Blooming Prairie, MN.
Christianson, now in his fifth year of owning Smooth Moves, had built the systems for original owner Brett King, a tournament winner and past NPAA board member. “I’ve been a part of this company from the start, and even today, when customers call, they can talk directly to me,” Christianson said.
Two styles are offered. Both have hydraulic shock action to control speed of movement and springs to take the bite out of rough water. The Classic and the Ultra swivel 360 degree, have a built-in passenger weight adjustment feature, and slide forward and back.
The Ultra model has the entire suspension system installed under the seat. “The boat builders requested this, so we produced it, and even though it’s a bit more expensive, it’s very popular,” he said. Smooth Moves seat bases are less than half the cost of most electronics units. Smooth Moves will offer NPAA members a discount and free-shipping for online orders, knowing that the NPAA members will help sell product for their distribution base.
Two pro anglers, both with multiple tournament and Championship victories, Tommy Skarlis and Bruce “Doc” Samson wouldn’t go on the water without Smooth Moves seats. Skarlis said, “Smooth Moves have allowed me to fish harder and stay out on the water longer.” Samson said, “I was director of a Spine Clinic and prevention of back and neck pain is much easier than treating back and neck pain. The Smooth Moves suspension system is my shock absorber for my back and neck.”
Smooth Moves will attend the NPAA annual conference Jan. 2 – 4 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Suites near the Minneapolis airport. Pat Neu said, “This is one of the best times to talk with industry leaders and learn first-hand about their products and programs.”
