Forestville, WI – The National Professional Anglers Association annual conference is a weekend of experts sharing their knowledge, skills and passion. The theme for the 2015 event is “Proactive and Professional”. The conference is set for Jan. 2 – 4, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Suites near the Minneapolis airport.
Sessions by industry marketing partners including boat and outboard manufacturers, the biggest tackle companies in the world and tournament organizers will share details on their new products and services with attendees. Special classes in personal branding, digital and social media, professionalizing sponsorship presentations and youth fishing events will be offered. A Future Angler Foundation benefit banquet hosted by Skeeter and Yamaha occurs Saturday evening that will include a great meal and an opportunity to support the Future Angler Foundation (www.futureangler.org). One of the special silent auction items for the benefit is a complete set of Walleye In-Sider magazines and a fishing trip with Al Lindner. This amazing stack of magazines (19-years’ worth) was donated by NPAA Supporting Partner Bob Luellen of World Wide Marine Insurance.
Special guest speaker Rick Cole will kick-off the “professionalism” discussion Saturday morning. Rick has a 30-year business career in sales and management, and formerly served as director of sales for the In-Fisherman Communications Network. He is currently a Dale Carnegie area director in north-central US, having conducted business and personal improvement training to more than 3,000 individuals. He has been inducted into the Minnesota Jaycees Hall of Leadership.
NPAA executive director Pat Neu said, “The 2015 Conference speakers are experts in their fields and willingly share their knowledge. This is the only event of its kind in the fishing industry. Our conference attendees will learn firsthand from some of the best promoters in the sport.” The Friday speakers preceding the business meeting and “Meet and Greet” party are Mark Courts and Korey Sprengel. Both are walleye champions and tournament winners. They will share tips and techniques that make a difference on the water and off. A wide range of special topics will be covered by many other top-ranked anglers and media experts throughout the weekend.
The conference is open to the public for $100 and NPAA members at $75 prior to Dec. 17th. Non-members who join the association prior to the end of the conference will receive a $25 rebate on their conference fee. The fee includes two meals, the Future Angler Foundation banquet and admittance to all sessions. Special hotel rates of $79 are offered at the Crowne Plaza (877-810-5190) by using group code NPA. “If you’ve been here previously, you know how valuable this event is to any fishing career,” Neu said. “Bring a friend this year and urge anglers in the public eye to join us. This really is a career-enhancing event.”
