NPAA member Greg Karch #138 hosted Future Angler seminar for the Westside Elementary School in Kimberly, Wisconsin.  Greg’s seminar ‘Fishing Basic’s  covered: safety, details on open- and closed-face fishing combos, casting, fishing identification, knots, bait, parts of a fish and essential items to have in a tackle box.

The seminar ended with the AIS message of ‘Clean, Drain and Dry’.   Prior to this fishing clinic the kids read articles that Greg was featured in, and you would not believe all the questions the kids had from how fast is you boat, what was the biggest fish I caught and why do I want to teach youths about fishing.

Greg had such much fun with the kids and that was such an interest that these kids want to know more about fishing that he is planning on hosting a after school fishing club.

Greg would like to thank his sponsors as they are together to grow the great sport of fishing!!  His sponsors include NPAA, Future Angler Foundation,  Dave’s Musky Club, Shakespeare, Berkley, Plano, Mercury, Lake-Link, Triton Boats, The Boat Doc, Off Shore Tackle Company, Northland Tackle, TTI Blakemore Fishing Group, Navionics, Maui Jim, Big Eye Custom Lures and The Reel Shot.

Many events bringing new people into the sport of fishing-both youth and adults-are supported through the 501c3 non-profit organization Future Angler Foundation. Through charitable contributions, the FAF purchases needed items for programs like this and helps skilled anglers teach others about one of the best sports a person can ever learn: fishing. It is a sport that can last a lifetime.
