‘Learn 2 Fish With Us’ Angler Educator and NPAA member Greg Karch #138  presented his Fishing Basics seminar at the Fishing In The Gym at the New Holstein High located in New Holstein, Wisconsin.

The event was held Friday evening on April 11th  from 4 PM to 8 PM which allowed families to come and go as they pleased.  The event consisted of fishing educational stations of knots, Aquatic Invasive Species, regulations, walleye fishing, fish identification, casting and a casting contest.

At 5 PM Greg presented his Fishing Basics seminar which reviewed: safety, open and closed spinning combo’s, casting, fishing presentations, bait, knots, parts of a fish, fish identification, ‘Clean Drain Dry’ and conservation.  All this skills will help the family have a great experience fishing while spending time together.

The families were so excited to be able to spend time together learning about fishing and plan to use the skills learned in the upcoming fishing season.  Sarah was excited as Greg worked with her on casting and taught her how to casting with an open spinning combo!!!  Greg said ‘Educating youth, families and adults on fishing, will allow us to grow the great sport of fishing while giving families a sport they can do together!!’.

Greg’s sponsors donated many fishing related items such as NPAA Future Angler shirts, fishing combo’s and educational books that were given to the youth.  So by educating future anglers on fishing and by them receiving fishing equipment will allow us to grow the sport of fishing!!  Greg sponsors include NPAA, Future Angler Foundation,  Dave’s Musky Club, Shakespeare, Berkley, Plano, Frabill, Mercury, Triton Boats, The Boat Doc, Off Shore Tackle Company, Northland Tackle, TTI Blakemore Fishing Group, Navionics, Maui Jim and The Reel Shot.

Greg has launched a website www.Learn2FishWithUs.com which educates beginner and experienced anglers through seminars, how to video’s and links to educational articles so they can broaden their fishing skills.  Greg’s Fishing Clinics are always free to the public.  So if you or a group you know is looking for a Fishing Clinic in 2014 contact Greg Karch though his website.
