For the 24th consecutive year, walleye fishing will have its “Daytona 500” event – the first of the season – at Spring Valley, Illinois with the MWC on March 27 & 28 “We are excited to head back amongst friends and a fantastic Sauger fishery on the Illinois River that MWC anglers have helped to sustain,” shared Kristine Houtman, Director of the Cabela’s MWC. “There is still time for anglers to sign up, with a $650 entry fee per team through March 8 and a $750 entry fee March 9 through March 22. Registration will be closed on March 23.”
Many anglers enjoy the official end of cabin fever at the MWC Spring Valley tournament and the field is notorious for big name anglers as well as talented local sticks. Everyone is welcome in this team-format where you select your own partner to fish the event together over the two days.
Registration is available online with secure credit card payment at http://www.masterswalleyecircuit.com/registration.asp or call 877-893-7947 ext 4. Approximately 100 teams are expected for the tournament at this time, which would make for a first place payout of $15,250 and $52,030 would pay out to a total of 20 places, plus sponsor contingency bonus potential bringing the total over $55,000.
