Several NPAA members helped out at Lure ‘Em for Life’s August Fish Camp at Devils Lake, North Dakota this summer. “We had a great camp again this year” said Rhonda Ferguson, Camp Director for Lure “Em for Life. “The fish were biting and the weather was just perfect. The kids caught a bunch of fish and had a ton of fun!”
58 kids participated in the weeklong camp, along with 25 adult camp volunteers. Activities included both in-classroom and on the water sessions where the kids learned about everything fishing. Topics included fishing rules and regulations, water eco systems and ANS issues, boat and water safety, fish identification, tackle craft and knot tying, and cleaning, cooking, and storage of fish.
NPAA members that helped out at camp this year were Jim Carroll #13, Zach Axtman #512, Al Freidig #889, Chase Freidig #990, and Keith Seidlinger #999.
“We are so grateful for the support from the NPAA, its members, and the Future Angler Foundation” said Ferguson. “A lot of these kids have never fished before and we are just thrilled that every kid left camp with a brand new rod and reel courtesy of the NPAA!”
