NPAA Members Stephen & Brenda Picht #514 & #513 Donating K.J. Houtman Fish On Kids Books to Grand Rapids, MN Elementary Schools.

The first set of books was donated to Forest Lake Elementary School on May 15, 2013.

“Our plan is to donate a set to each of the schools in our area” Stated Stephen & Brenda, “this is a tie in with our fishing education and on the water events”. Our first on the water event through the LGFWS kids program was cancelled this year due to the late ice out on Pokegama Lake. We are hoping to reschedule with the kids before school lets out.

The presentation at Forest Lake Elementary was done in the school cafeteria with 240+ kids in attendance. We gave a short talk about fishing, boat safety and AIS and then let the kids have the floor. There were lots of questions and lots of laughs.

Steve and Brenda Picht will also donate books locally to St. Joseph Catholic School, where the kids will receive a short fishing education class and a day on the water along with the next book donation.  Brenda commented that “We really enjoy working with the next generation of anglers and we are really looking forward to these events.”
