Forestville, WI- The National Professional Anglers Association recently announced a new Fishing Club Partner Program.  Pat Neu, NPAA Executive Director also was pleased to announce that the first club to join was the FM Walleyes Unlimited club of North Dakota.

He said, “We want to join forces with many other fishing clubs across the nation, and are proud that FM Walleyes is our initial club partner.”  Equally excited to become affiliated with NPAA was Kyle Agre, a board member with the club.  Agre said, “This is a perfect fit for us.  We have a common mission of growing the sport.  The NPAA is national and we’re doing much the same on the local level.”

FM Walleyes was inducted into the National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame earlier this year for their educational and youth efforts, for their tie-in with fishing promotions and tournaments and for their many decades of service in the Fargo-Moorhead region.  Agre said the club consists of 350 family memberships representing about 600 individuals.  The club formed in the mid-1970’s.

Neu said, “Partnering with fishing clubs that already promote the sport is an extremely effective strategy to target the NPAA’s efforts to grow the sport.”  He cited the benefits for clubs, including:

•     Club news releases that will be forwarded to an email distribution list of 1,200 NPAA members, media and industry leaders.
•    Clubs will receive no-charge booth space at the annual NPAA Annual Conference.
•    Two Club member representatives will receive no-charge admission to the NPAA Annual Conference.
•    Clubs will receive a link on the NPAA site to their website.
•    NPAA will offer a Club Page on the NPAA Forums.
•    NPAA will support one “future angler/youth event” for each club annually.
•    A new-member discount will be offered for club members who join the NPAA.

Agre said FM Walleyes liked the increased visibility, and enhanced media connections the NPAA offers. He also felt this new partnership would stir some folks into joining their club.  He said, “The more we can promote fishing, the better off we all are.”  Go to www.fmwalleyes.com  for more information.
