Osh Kosh To Host Worlds Largest Fishing Tournament

May 26, 2010 Minnetonka, MN-Walleye fans and world-record watchers alike will focus on Oshkosh, Wisconsin, June 5-6 when more than 350 two-person teams square off on the legendary Lake Winnebago system.

The event is a combination of the Cabela’s National Team Championship and Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit’s Lake Winnebago Central Division Qualifier, and approved for consideration by Guinness World Records as history’s largest fishing tournament.
The NTC is one of the most prestigious walleye tournaments in the country. Teams qualify for it by accumulating points through competition in local tournaments organized by more than 50 sanctioned grassroots walleye clubs across the United States. Now in its 26th season, the Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit is the longest-running professional walleye tournament circuit in the United States.
This will be the ninth edition of the NTC and mark the second time that the NTC and MWC have paired up to host two tournaments in one. At press time, a total of 366 teams were registered for the event.
Weigh-ins are open to the public and will be held at 3 p.m. both days at Millers Bay in Menominee Park off Hazel St. and Merritt Ave. in Oshkosh. The MWC and National Professional Anglers Association will present a Youth & Family Fishing Clinic immediately after Saturday’s weigh-in. Youths receive rods and reels donated by Cabela’s and Berkley, and tackle packages courtesy of Northland Fishing Tackle.
