Tommy Skarlis was also the speaker at our meeting and spoke about how we need to be in control of our lives and how he relates his faith to fishing. As usual Tommy was very entertaining to say the least as well as heartfelt in his presentation. It was interesting to watch as Tommy spoke to the near 120 people in attendance as all eyes were glued.
Wow for walleyes!!! That is what the Full Throttle tournament on the Mississippi River pools 3/4 had fisherman saying “wow”!! Tommy Skarlis and Jeff Lohr win the tournament with 5 giant walleyes weighing a combined weight of 41.64 lbs to top the 52 teams fishing the event. The Ranger team also caught the big fish of the tournament a 9.70 lb beauty. On top of that Skarlis and Loer win the Ranger Cup bonus, Bonus Bucks, Big Fish, and trophies for $4,135.

Second place was Full Throttle National Champions from 2009 Dave and Kent Anderson with a total weight of 26.90 lbs. 3rd place was Mike Schommer and Pat Brookshaw with a total weight of 21.45lbs.
Dinner was cooked by the men’s ministry team at Crossroads Community Church in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. They served homemade spaghetti and garlic bread with all the fixins and ice cream for dessert. The next day for the tournament the men’s group also came out and helped at the weigh-in.
The tournament weigh-in took place at Everts Resort in Wisconsin. Special thanks goes out to Dean the owner of Everts who let us have a very nice location for the weigh in right next to the river. If you are ever in the area stop in and say “hi” to Dean and tell him Full Throttle thanks him.
