Ponca City, Okla. – October 1, 2013 – The Bass Federation’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Robert Cartlidge, announced today the hiring of industry veteran, Tammy Cox, formerly of Pure Fishing. Cox’s most recent experience was the longtime grassroots Marketing Manager for the Berkley product lines, among others.
Cox joins the federation leadership team as the Director of Business Development for all properties under the federation umbrella, which includes: The Bass Federation (TBF), Future Fisherman Foundation (F3), The Walleye Federation (TWF), the Student Angler Federation (SAF) high school fishing program, National Bass Anglers Association (NBAA), Cabela’s North American Bass Circuit (NABC), and the Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit (MWC).
“Tammy is a true industry professional. She’s someone I’ve known, trusted and respected for many years. She’s a proven performer and we welcome her to our federation family,” Cartlidge, stated. “Her experience and hard work in this industry are unmatched; we look forward to her insight and expertise in continuing to grow all of our affiliated programs.”
The federation has steadily expanded its business for several years to include the most diverse offerings and the largest reach to grassroots anglers across all platforms in the fishing industry.
Earlier this year, the federation hired industry veteran and associate publisher of the North American Media Group, Kelly Gohman, as the VP of Sales and Marketing. In addition, it acquired 13 weeks of Federation Angler TV on NBC sports, starting fourth quarter of 2013, as well as, 13 weeks of Federation Angler TV on the Pursuit channel, starting second quarter of 2014.
The federation’s reach has gone far beyond what it’s ever seen.
“As the federation becomes more diverse and complex it spurs demand for professionals with a wide spectrum of skills,” Cartlidge continued. “Tammy will be responsible for not only supporting all current affiliated company programs, but also seeking out new business opportunities to further support the federation’s core values of fishing, youth and conservation.”
“I’ve admired TBF for many years for their dedication to the sport of fishing, and for the opportunities they provide our young anglers,” Tammy Cox, said. “As an industry, we have a responsibility to continue replenishing future anglers; TBF and their affiliates have shown great leadership in this endeavor. I’m honored to be a part of such a great organization, and I look forward to getting started.”
Cox’s primary focus will be to develop, coordinate, and implement marketing plans designed to maintain and increase existing membership, and capture new trends and membership opportunities where they exist. She’ll be a key player in strategic marketing and operations planning with the federation leadership team, as well as, setting objectives and methods to accomplish them.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have Tammy Cox become the newest addition to our team,” Future Fisherman Foundation Executive Director, Mark Gintert, said. “She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and a real passion for getting young people involved with the sport of fishing. I cannot think of anyone in the entire industry we’d rather have join us.”
The Bass Federation Inc., (TBF), is the oldest and largest, organized grassroots angling organization in America. TBF is 100% owned by those it serves and is dedicated to the sport of fishing. TBF affiliated state federations and their member clubs conduct more than 20,000 fishing, youth and conservation events at the local level each year, and have provided the foundation for the entire bass fishing industry for nearly 45 years.
