The inaugural AIM Professional Walleye proved beyond a doubt that the new CRR Process not only works flawlessly, it’s fun to watch! Pros and co’s alike seemed to enjoy the process, as many mentioned the great fishing and the advantage of the new CRR format. CRR allowed anglers to pursue big fish all day, essentially swinging for the fence from tournament beginning to end.
The Bay City audience enjoyed the multi-monitor displayed fish pictures coupled with the emcee interviews of the Pros by seasoned Pro Keith Kavajecz. The entire weigh in was streamed live from the AIM website to a world wide audience on the web implementing a multi camera display.
Lindy/ Evinrude/ Navionics Pro Tommy Skarlis took the lead early with a total weight of 39.94 pounds and was still solidly in first place at the end of the weigh-in.
Second place Mark Brumbaugh caught, recorded, and released an AIM limit of 7 fish for a total weight of 30.16 pounds. Every Pro registered Walleyes, a testament to the excellent walleye fishing available on Saginaw Bay.
Lund/Mercury Pro Mike Gofron holds down third with 29.48. Toyota Trucks Pro Pat Neu is in fourth ounces back of Gofron. Fifth through tenth are David Anderson, Joe Okada, Gary Pasons, Tom Kemos, Chase Parsons, and Rich Boggs. It took 27.10 pounds to occupy tenth.
The bite was extremely good on Saginaw Bay and almost every technique available was in play, from jigging to pulling cranks. The river was hot providing some good weights, but open water produced some impressive totals as well. Tomorrow looks to offer almost perfect weather, and the Pros agreed the bite should be on as strong as today.
The morning ceremonies begin tomorrow at 7:30 Am on the waterfront as the Pros leave Veteran Memorial Park, right next to the AIM tent. Watch for morning interviews, images, and more at http://www.aimfishing.com moment after the last boats leave the harbor.
