numerous fishing events for children in Wisconsin.
NPAA Pros Help Out in Montello, WI at Moose Fest
NPAA members; Jim Kloth, Dave Van Oss, Steve Fellegy, Robert Blosser, Terry Filkins, John Schneider, Mark Shutz, and Gary Engberg helped fishing professional Daryl Christensen with Montello’s Wisconsin’s Moose Fest on Saturday and Sunday, May 1 and 2. Moose Fest is a city-wide outdoor event that draws thousand’s of people to this central Wisconsin town for its carnival, shops, food, contests, and fishing. Moose Fest is raising money for a local children’s hospital and the NPAA pros took an active part in making the weekend a success. The N.P.A.A. pros took almost a 100 children fishing for bluegills and bass on nearby Buffalo Lake. Another great weekend for the kids!
NPAA Pros at Family Fishing Day on Lake Marion in Mazomanie, Wisconsin
Saturday, May 8, the town of Mazomanie, Wisconsin held their Annual Family Fishing Day at Lake Marion. The event was organized and hosted by NPAA member, Terry Frey, the Wisconsin River Sportsmen’s Club, Becker Law Office, and Okuma Fishing. NPAA members Wally Banfi and Gary Engberg helped Terry with the event that drew over 200 children to learn, with their parents, the basics of fishing and experience the “lost” joy of being in the outdoors. Okuma Fishing gave over 200 rods and reels to the event as a major sponsor and Sales Representative, Mark Kummerow, was there to help hand out the rods and reels to the smiling children.
Despite cool temperatures and the threat of rain, the fish cooperated and many children had the opportunity to catch their first fish. A lunch was served and a good day was had by all and again many children were introduced to fishing for the first time with success.
