This annual “indoor” ice fishing event encourages people young and old to participate in having fun and getting to learn about the outdoors, ice fishing in particular.
Members of FM Walleyes Unlimited set up and ran a number of “learning stations” in the YMCA gymnasium including Ice Safety, Ice Fishing Equipment, Knot Tying, Fish Handling, Invasive Species Prevention and Casting.
Volunteers included NPAA members Spencer Deutz, Paul DeChene and Kyle Agre. The event saw approximately 75 youngsters participate in the learning stations during the two hour event.
All funds raised from this event go toward supporting YMCA Camp Cormorant on Big Cormorant Lake in Becker County, Minnesota.
