NPAA members Greg Karch #138, Tim Euting #789, Craig Huss #262 hosted a Youth Fishing Clinic at Maplewood Middle School in Menasha, Wisconsin on Thursday April 26th. Greg Karch partnered with the City Of Menasha Park and Recreation Department, Menasha School District and Heckrodt Nature Preserve to conduct this Fishing Clinic.
The event was kicked-off with a seminar called ‘Fishing Basics’ which covered; safety, details on open and closed face fishing combo’s, casting, fishing identification, knots, bait, parts of a fish and what Greg’s tackle box consisted of when he was a youth.
After the seminar the youths had the opportunity to go to stations that allowed the youths to have hands on experience with everything they learned from the Fishing Basics seminar. A quote from one of the parents ‘Thanks Greg and team for this awesome event. Hunter loves to go down stairs and cast for hours and hours using the Backyard Bass and has already learned many of the names of the different fish from the educational materials”.
Every youth went home with something fishing related from fishing poles, shirts, hats, tackle boxes, tackle and more. Thanks to following; NPAA, Berkley, Plano, Badger Sportsman Magazine, Northland, Mercury, Off Shore Tackle Company, Lake Link, TTI Blakemore Fishing Group for all the donated fishing goods and educational materials that was handed out to the youths. Together we are growing the great sport of fishing!!!
