Bemidji duo win 8th Leech Lake Walleye Tourney for 2nd straight year
The duo jumped five spots with a second-day basket of 15.27 pounds, including the biggest fish of the day at 7.03 pounds. Their 28.06 pounds, nearly four pounds ahead of second place, brought them a check for $14,200, plus another for the biggest fish.
Curb said a lot of luck went into them winning the tourney again. “It seems like every spot we stopped, we caught fish. We’ve been lucky for two years in a row,” Curb noted.
Sutton said the morning bite was tough on Sunday, but once the wind picked up, they were able to catch a lot of fish. Their basket on the second day was more than three pounds heavier than the closest haul.
