Chinook, shad, steelhead and walleye tops the “to catch” list on Columbia River
Last week Tacoma Power employees recovered 517 spring Chinook adults, 201 jacks, seven winter-run steelhead, 131 summer-run steelhead, and one cutthroat trout during five days of operations at the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery separator.
During the past week, Tacoma Power employees released 45 spring Chinook adults, 15 spring Chinook jacks, one winter-run steelhead and one cutthroat trout into Lake Scanewa located above Cowlitz Falls Dam, 29 spring Chinook adults and 57 jacks into the Cispus River upstream of the mouth of Yellow Jacket Creek near Randle, and 146 spring Chinook adults and 93 spring Chinook jacks at Franklin Bridge in Packwood.
River flows at Mayfield Dam are approximately 5,140 cubic feet per second on Monday, June 13. Visibility is 10.5 feet.
