Sillerud, Rasmusan win Montana Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament
The winners walked away with a $15,000 first-place prize in a tournament that seemed to favor the local anglers.
Sillerud and Rasmusan outpaced second-place finishers Wayne Wilcox, of Laurel, and Chris Grotjohn, of Belgrade, who took second place with a total weight of 49.08 pounds.
Both teams were way ahead of last year’s winning two-day weight of 34.52 pounds.
Two hundred teams competed in the event’s 29th annual tournament, held on Friday and Saturday.
The other top five finishers were: 3) Landon Holte, Fort Peck – Casey Holte, Bismarck, N.D., 48.66; 4) Ted Toavs, Wolf Point – Paul Wemmer, Nashua, 48.4; 5) Rodney Glasoe, Nashua – Tyler Johnson, Nashua, 48.19.
Glasoe and Johnson were leading after the first day with a weight of 37.71 pounds but had a tough second day to drop them back in the standings.
