Spirit Lake Marina Walleye Classic results
A total of 80 two-person fishing teams battled for the top payout of $10,000 in the Spirit Lake Marina 16th annual Walleye Classic this last weekend.
The top 15 teams received cash payments.
1. Team No. 19 of Travis Klein and Rick Frisch had a total weight of 54.86 lbs, 10 fish. They won $10,000.
2. Team No. 53 Matt Taylor and Benjamin Mack, 52.16 lbs., 10 fish took home $5,000.
3. Team No. 68 Dennis Schonhoff and Ryan Carey, 49.19 lbs, 10 fish, took home $4,000.
4. Team No. 30 Tanner Thomas and Alex Reslock, 44.60 lbs, 10 fish took home $3,000.
5. Team No. 55 Josh Klein and Jay Kulla, 44.12 lbs., 10 fish, took home $2,000.
6. Team No. 72 Troy Sand and Nick Fugelberg, 43.99 lbs, 10 fish, took home $1,000.
7. Team No. 26 Ben Nordquist and Aron Liebelt, 39.74 lbs., 10 fish, took home $900.
8. Team No. 65 Zach Axtman and Spencer Deutz, 38.79 lbs., took home $800.
9. Team No. 24 Kyle Olson and Brandon Moren, 38.53 lbs, 10 fish took home $700.
10. Team No. 5 Aaron Johnson and Trent Amundsen, 38.48 lbs., five fish, took home $600.
11. Team No. 40 Jeff Eskelson and Steven Bratland, 37.52 lbs., seven fish, took home $500.
12. Team No. 63 Eric Hanson and Bill Hanson, 36.69 lbs., 10 fish, took home $400.
13. Team No. 11 Larry Zimmerman and Lynn Jurrens, 36.26 lbs., 10 fish, took home $250.
14. Team No. 76 Chad Bickett and Troy Jones 33.94 lbs., 10 fish, took home $250.
15. Team No. 21 Steve Larson and David Harmon, 33.87 lbs., 10 fish, took home $250.
Hard Charger
The team that improved the most over the first day was team No. 78 Jason Ramberg and Travis Clemmens with a 17.04 lb. increase. For that they took home $350.
Big Fish
The first place largest fish went to team No. 6 Ron Deutz and Mark Anderson for a walleye that weighed 9.54 lbs. They took home $400.
Second place went to team No. 11 Larry Zimmerman and Lynn Jurrens with a 9.12 lb. walleye they took home $230.
Third place went to team No. 79 Brian Cavanaugh and Michael Leaf for the 8.86 lb. walleye they caught. They took home $150.
The total amount given out in prizes was $30,780.00.
