Walleye run underway on Fox River in De Pere

DE PERE (WLUK) — Warmer weather is opening up the water on local rivers.
And in some areas, that means the spring walleye run is underway.
Dozens of fishermen were on the Fox River in De Pere Monday, hoping to hook a trophy fish.
On the shoreline, sparks were flying at the Fox Point Boat Launch, workers were doing a little patchwork on the piers.
“We’re just fixing the docks here, getting them ready to go out on the river for fishermen, so they can get out and catch some walleyes, this spring,” said Keith Leisner, Pound.
