Northwestern Outdoors Radio Offers Hunting and Fishing Adventures

Bill Hanlon with Backcountry Hunters and Anglers (BHA) shares his fascinating story of going on a multi-day hunting expedition in Northern British Columbia and finding not only a Dall sheep, but also the frozen and mummified remains of a 500 year old man. The tale stretches over two hunts and five years as the mystery of this very primitive hunter is solved using modern day forensics. Speaking of backcountry expeditions, Angie Timm with Seek Outside is a supporting member of BHA and joins us to show off the lightweight teepees you’ll want to take with you on your next hunting or rafting expedition. While we are on the subject of camping we’ll talk to Dave Wall with the Union Gospel Mission in Spokane. He is asking for help this Easter weekend to help send disadvantaged urban kids to summer camp along the banks of the Spokane River to fish, swim, learn archery and have all sorts of outdoors fun!

We’ve got fishing on tap too, and our focus this week is on warmwater species! Mack’s Lure Pro Guide Keith Jensen with Big Wally’s Guide Service breaks down the spring walleye bite at Banks Lake, the folks at MarDon Resort have a fresh bass and walleye report from Eastern Washington’s Potholes Reservoir and then we’ll spend some quality time with Captain Forrest Fawthrop with Walleye Hunter Outfitters who shares where to go after walleye and pike and how to catch them in the great state of Montana! www.northwesternoutdoors.com
