DIVIDE, Colo. – Colorado Parks and Wildlife wants you to get out and play this Spring. Bring the family and join us for the annual Outdoor Skills Day at Mueller State Park on Saturday, May 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
From couch potatoes to outdoor enthusiasts, all are welcome. Brush up on some outdoor skills or pick up a new hobby. The day will be filled with a variety of activities, including .22 rifle, shotgun and pellet gun target shooting, archery, fishing, mountain biking and geocaching. Also learn about living and playing in bear country and camping.
“This is a great way to try out some new activities in a safe and comfortable environment,” said Tonya Sharp, District Wildlife Manager. “You may just fall in love with an activity you never otherwise would have tried.”
Stations will be targeted at teaching all ages the basic skills in each activity. Pick and choose the stations that interest you or try them all!
No registration is necessary and the event is free, however a $7 daily parks pass or $70 annual pass is required on your vehicle for entry into the park. Be sure to bring snacks, water and sunscreen. The event is open to all ages, but a parent or adult must be present the entire time.
