The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) will release new draft management plans for mule deer and whitetail deer for public comment in early June. The revised deer plans include current Idaho deer populations as well as input from hunters who have told IDFG “how they prefer deer hunting to be managed,” the Idaho County Free Press reports.
The current deer management plans are more than 10 years old.
“Management plans allow us to evaluate what’s working, what’s not working, what limitations we’re dealing with, and whether we can address those limitations,” said Daryl Meints, IDFG deer and elk coordinator.
